The van is based on Lichfield Street in New Brighton and I work roughly 15 miles out from there, which covers the whole of the Wirral peninsula comfortably. There is no call-out fee anywhere in that radius. The price you are quoted is the price for the work, whether you are ten minutes away in Wallasey or the far side of Heswall.
Beyond that radius I will still consider it, particularly for the longer jobs where the travel is a small part of the day. Ring me and ask rather than assuming you are too far out.
That is the reason each area has its own page rather than one list of towns. A car parked on the front at New Brighton or near the Marine Lake at West Kirby is dealing with salt-laden air more or less permanently, and salt is a corrosion problem rather than a cosmetic one. It works into wheel arches, sills and door shuts, and once it has taken hold you are into bodywork rather than valeting.
Move inland and the problem changes completely. Around Birkenhead the issue is traffic film and tree sap from street and terrace parking. Out toward Bebington and Bromborough it is industrial fallout from the estates and the M53, tiny iron particles that embed in the clear coat and leave paint feeling gritty rather than glass-smooth. Neither shifts with an ordinary wash, and both need proper decontamination.
In Heswall and the surrounding villages, where cars tend to be garaged and well looked after, the sensible money goes on correction and coating rather than remedial cleaning. Around Upton it is more often interiors that have had a hard life while the paint is basically sound. Same peninsula, four different jobs.

I can work in an office car park, outside a flat with no outside tap, or on a street with nothing at all.
